Our focus is on creating a quality sustainable addition for you. Over the many years we have been operating, we have prioritised developing relationships with trades we trust. Where we can complete additions is limited because of this.

The Build Process
The first step we like to take in the process of creating your addition is a site inspection. In this inspection, we will discuss what you’re wanting for your addition and it’s feasibility. We are typically only involved in additions that include rammed earth and are sustainable.
When it comes to your addition, we can build off architectural plans or create a custom design for you. When the plans are finalised and we have relevant permits, we start the build! Generally, the build process for your addition will follow a set of stages:
1. Site Preparation
In the site prep stage, we complete your site cut if you require one for your addition. This stage may also involve re-positioning things for the build process. Some services may also need to be disconnected or adjusted for your addition to begin.
2. Base Stage
Throughout the base stage, our concreter will complete your slab and/or footings.
3. Rammed Earth
When the slab and/or footings have cured, your site is ready for us to build your rammed earth walls!
As the name suggests, this stage involves framing. The external light weight clad walls and internal plaster wall frames are erected. The framing stage also includes framing the roof, including connection to the existing roofline.
5. Lock Up
The plumbers and electricians complete rough-in for plumbing and electrical services. External wall claddings, roofing, eaves, external doors and windows are also fitted, getting the addition ready to ‘lock-up’.
In the fixing stage, insulation, plaster, internal doors, skirtings and architraves are all fixed.
7. Fit Off
The fit-off stage is when our joiner will fit your internal joinery if required. The plumbers and electricians will install the electrical and plumbing fixtures. If you are having tiles they will be laid in this stage and any other items requiring fitting will be installed.
8. Handover / Completion
By this stage, your addition is nearly complete! The final few things are finished, for example carpets, shower screens, robes and finally, the builders clean.
Eco Sustainable Homes customise each build stage to include all the elements required for your addition. Throughout the entire design and build process of your addition, we will keep you in the loop.
We use a client communication system, Co-Construct to keep you up-to-date on everything about your addition.
